BIG releases new webcast examining New York City's Fair Chance Act
The latest installment of our compliance webcast series "Compliance to Consider: Issues, Impact and Action," examines one of the country's strongest fair chance hiring laws – New York City's Fair Chance Act.
Presented by Sadeq Khan, BIG's chief compliance officer/deputy general counsel, our new webcast covers the following aspects of the Fair Chance Act:
- The Act's various requirements including requirements that apply at the pre and post-offer stages, as well as exceptions provided by the Act;
- An overview of the assessments and processes employers may be required to follow when considering criminal information, such as the "Fair Chance Process" and the Article 23-A analysis; and
- Recent cases and developments in interpretation of the Fair Chance Act, including guidance issued by the New York City Commission on Human Rights.
